  • 7:20 – 7:30 (Nathan/Corey) Food Pantry & Community Kitchen
    • Food pantry is looking for new volunteers
      • Deliveries on Tuesdays
      • Stocking on Thursdays
      • Reach out to Nathan at nathanharpine@gmail.com if you’re interested in helping out.
    • Community Kitchen
      • Received personal donations and a recent $10k grant to sustain it into the future.
      • Also looking for additional volunteers
        • Wednesday evenings
        • Please contact: vp@griaonline.org if you’re interested in helping out.
      • If we can raise additional funds, we’ll be able to expand the program outside of RHouse
  • 7:30 – 7:40 (Jo Ann) Made In Baltimore Holiday Shop
    • Location at Previous Howard Bank space in Remington Row
    • Trying to open starting in November 4th to January 9th
    • Also open at https://madeinbaltimore.org/
  • 7:40 – 7:50 (Liz Vayda) 1st Thursdays Remington Business Crawl
    • Collaboration between many Remington small businesses
    • Called “Rendezvous in Remington” which each business will offer a discount
    • Flyer coming out next week
    • Some participants include B.Willow, Greedy Reads, Mt. Royal Soaps and the stalls at R.House
  • 7:50 – 8:00 (Logan) BNIA CSA Name Discussion
    • At the April meeting, presented how to access and compare your data with other neighborhoods

    • Proposing to reduce the name of the neighborhood from “Medfield/Hampden/Woodberry/Remington” to “Medfield/Hampden/Remington”
    • Any feedback on that change would be appreciated at the above website.
  • 8:00 – 8:05 (Phong) Dumpster Day and (Amanda) Street Cleanup

      • Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 9am–11 am
      • We work with the city to get a dumpster 4 times a year, this is our last dumpster day of the year.
      • That morning, we’d like some help cleaning up some of the leaves and area around the dumpster.

      • SATURDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2021 AT 9 AM – 11 AM
      • Keeping our alleyways clean is very important to keep our rat population down

  • 8:05 – 8:15 (Wes/Amanda if needed) Mission Fit Row-a-Thon
    • Oct 31 @10am. Teams of 6-10 sharing a rower, hopping on and off nascar style to try and row as far as possible in 90 minutes as a team.
    • 10:30am-12:00 is the row.
    • There will be music and sweating and fun. After the row, we may share some burgers and hot dogs in the park.
    • There will hopefully be a community rower open to stragglers and community members – please come by and say hello and hop on a rower if you can.

  • Land Use Report Out!!
    • 2 votes in the past meeting
      • Support a zoning change for the anderson body shop, parking lots in the back are going to be turned into rowhomes
        • Also supported by the CVCA
      • Exemption for Industrial mixed use zoning in Remington
        • Enforced small scale industrial/retail on the first floor to keep blue collar workers in the area.
        • Developers came together and got the zoning code changed against that.
        • Oppose a change that would allow surface parking lots to be planned at public parks without community input
      • DOT has a special enforcement area in Remington since last week.
  • 8:15 – 8:25 Community Announcements
    • Michele Baskin – 2700 Block of Hampden Halloween Celebration
      • will be decorated for Halloween and giving out candy! on the 31st!
    • Home Repair Program flyer sent out this month
      • If you own your home and meet the income requirements, please refer to the flyer for getting home improvements completed at no cost to you.
    • Matt Williams – Mount Royal Soaps is hosting a cross-party with Hauntingdon this year
      • Will have a cotton candy machine
      • Stop by before going to Hauntingdon
    • November public safety and mental health conversation, would like feedback on any questions folks have about these new systems.
      • Behavioral Health System Baltimore
      • Present about what they do, who responds when calling 911 right now.
      • Will be presenting a Q&A on November 17th
