The Sisson Street Community Park is a half-acre community-managed greenspace in the heart of Remington, at 2701 Sisson Street. The Friends of Sisson Street Park – a group of Remington neighbors – holds an Adopt-a-Lot license with the City of Baltimore’s Department of Housing and Community Development to maintain the space for community use. Since 2015, neighbors have worked together to transform an overgrown lot into a valued community space where residents gather to meet, walk their dogs, play with their kids, tend to their community garden plots, participate in fitness classes, attend a community event, and enjoy a meal outdoors.

The park’s development and operations have been supported by financial contributions and support from the Central Baltimore Partnership, Johns Hopkins University, Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, Neighborhood Design Center, Hord Coplan Macht, Price Modern, Baltimore Office of Promotion & the Arts, and the City of Baltimore’s Bmore Beautiful program.
