Volunteers Needed!
The House Of Ruth Maryland, the state’s most comprehensive domestic violence service and
advocacy organization, is recruiting volunteers for in its Donation Center.
Located on Argonne Drive on the Morgan State University campus, the Donation Center is the
hub for receiving, sorting, and distributing clothing and other items donated to the House Of
Ruth. The Donation Center supplies the agency’s Clothes Closet (an inviting “boutique” where
clients can select clothing they want and need at no charge) and Ruth’s Closet (a resale boutique
opened January 2011 by the House Of Ruth, located in Owings Mills at 9131 Reisterstown Road
in the Valley Village Shopping Center).
Jen Talbert, the Donation Center Manager, relies exclusively on volunteers to help process
donations. This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals who want to see concrete results
from their efforts, enjoy organizing things, and who appreciate a flexible schedule. An added
bonus is the camaraderie among volunteers working with Jen in the Donation Center!
If you are interested in getting involved as a volunteer, we want to hear from you! To learn more
about volunteering, contact Sarah Jackson at sjackson@hruthmd.org or 443-996-8535. For

As we discussed during the most recent GRIA membership meeting, here is more info on volunteering with the House of Ruth, an excellent organization:
