1. Science Camp for Youth – Volunteers Needed
Fellow GRIAns, as you may have heard there will be an after school Science-Camp in Remington this fall. The camp will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings in Kromer hall (Remington and 27th St). The first session of Science Camp will be on September 21st and the last session will be October 21st. The project sessions start at 6pm and finish at 8pm. I am in desperate need of volunteers to help during the project sessions. I anticipate 10 youth between the ages of 11 – 16 signing up for the camp, the science experiments are complex and help would be greatly appreciated. Volunteers are not expected to help with every session, if you are interested email me and I will sign you up on the volunteer schedule for the evening that works best for you.

2. Homework Club
The Remington Homework Club (HWC) is getting ready to start up again! Our first session will be Monday, September 13th. As always, we need your support. If you are interested in tutoring, providing dinner one week, and/or donating supplies, please contact Rebekah Lin at rlin10@gmail.com. (For a detailed HWC “wish list,” please see the attachment). Also please note that we use Kromer Hall every Monday evening – if you use the space for something else during or after homework club, help us out and make sure it’s clean when you leave!

3. Northern District Ride-along
Northern District Resident,
On September 17, 2010 the Northern District will be hosting an open house and ride along. The ride-along will being at 2:30 p.m. with the open house following the ride-along.
