The Mayor’s Office today announced that the Greater Remington Improvement Association (GRIA) had received second place in the 2013 Clean Community Competition Members of the community throughout the neighborhood cleaned streets, alleys and vacant lots, and took “before and after” photos to show the improvement. GRIA board members Bill Cunningham and Ryan Flanigan took the lead on the cleanup efforts, while GRIA president Judith Kunst compiled and submitted an extensive scrapbook of the photos. GRIA was ineligible to win first place in the Northwest Quadrant this year since the group won last year.
